El Paso County Retirement Plan, Colorado Springs, Colo., hired Gardner Lewis Asset Management to run $18 million in active domestic large-cap growth equities, said Dave Klemmer, plan administrator. Gardner Lewis replaced Strong Capital, which ran a similar portfolio for the $210 million plan, Mr. Klemmer said. Strong was terminated in December because of organizational changes, he said. The money had been parked in a Russell 1000 growth index fund run by State Street Global Advisors; that portfolio is now closed, he said. Summit Strategies assisted.
