Jacksonville (Fla.) General Employees Pension Fund issued an RFP for at least one transition manager, said Camille Cossa, pension administrator. Officials for the $1.6 billion system want to create a new pool of transition managers in case the system needs to move assets between money managers, Ms. Cossa said. The RFP is available on the city's website, www2.coj.net/RFP; proposals are due April 30.
Separately, the plan rehired Montag & Caldwell to run $165 million in active domestic large-cap growth equities, Ms. Cossa said. City law required the plan to conduct a search before Montag's previous five-year contract expired at the end of March. Fayez Sarofim and TCW were the other finalists, she said. Merrill Lynch assisted.
