Charles Pieper joined Credit Suisse First Boston's alternative capital unit in New York as managing director, a new position. He will be responsible for operational improvements, strategic planning and growth of new investment products created by the new CSFB division, which combines the firm's private equity, hedge fund and other alternative investment management services. Mr. Pieper was a partner based in London at private equity manager Clayton Dubilier & Rice Consulting Inc. Thomas C. Franco, a spokesman for CD&R, said Mr. Pieper left the company when the portfolio company he was associated with was sold; he was not replaced.
