ExxonMobil Corp., Irving, Texas, expects to contribute $300 million to its U.S. pension plans and $540 million to its non-U.S. plans in 2004, according to the company's 10-K report. ExxonMobil contributed $2.1 billion to its U.S. plans last year. The company reported $1.9 billion in worldwide pension expenses at the end of 2003, up from $995 million a year earlier, because of lower interest rates, declining market value of plan assets and a weaker U.S. dollar, according to the filing.
ExxonMobil had $16.5 billion in worldwide pension plan assets as of Dec. 31, and $26.5 billion in worldwide pension liabilities.
