Maria D. Dwyer was named chief regulatory officer at MFS Investment Management, Boston. It is a new position. She will be in charge of compliance, internal audit and fund treasury. Ms. Dwyer was president and treasurer of the Fidelity Group of Funds, Boston; Christine Reynolds, senior vice president, will replace her.
Separately, MFS named Jeffrey N. Carp general counsel and senior vice president. He was a senior partner with the law firm of Hale and Dorr, Boston Mr. Carp replaces Stephen Cavan; Mr. Reilly would not say if Mr. Cavan's departure was related to MFS' recent settlement of regulatory fraud accusations against the firm.
In addition, MFS announced it hired William P. Douglas for a new position as lead mortgage securities portfolio manager. Mr. Douglas was vice president and senior mortgage analyst at Wellington Management Co., Boston; no information on his replacement was available.
