Norman Eig, chief executive officer at Lazard Asset Management, New York, was appointed chairman through the end of the year, when he will become a senior adviser. The firm has not yet determined who will succeed Mr. Eig as chairman, said Lazard spokesman Rich Silverman. Ashish Bhutani, who joined the firm in June as managing director in charge of strategy, succeeded Mr. Eig as CEO. He will continue to work on strategy.
In addition, three Lazard executives have been appointed deputy chairmen: Charles Carroll, managing director for all U.S. third-party distribution; Andrew Lacey, managing director and portfolio manager on U.S. equity products; and John Reinsberg, managing director for international/global equity management. The three will retain their current duties.
Lazard also named Robert DeConcini as chairman for the United States. He also will continue as head of U.S. institutional sales.
