Mississippi PERS hires BGI for index fund

The Mississippi Public Employees Retirement System, Jackson, hired Barclays Global Investors to manage $400 million in an MSCI EAFE index fund, said Frank Ready, executive director. He said funding will come from cash and from reducing the portfolios of the $16.3 billion plan's other international equity managers: AllianceBernstein, Deutsche Asset, Lazard Asset and Putnam.
