John Hancock Advisers hired Sustainable Growth Advisers to subadvise the John Hancock U.S. Global Leaders Growth fund, said Gordon Marchand, a founder of SGA. SGA manages $900 million in assets, more than $700 million of that in the John Hancock fund.
Mr. Marchand, along with George Fraise, managed the fund at previous subadviser Yeager, Wood & Marshall, where Mr. Marchand was a principal. Messrs. Marchand and Fraise left Yeager to open SGA, where they were joined by Robert Rohn, partner, principal and portfolio manager. Mr. Rohn was a portfolio manager at W.P. Stewart.
Messrs. Marchand and Fraise were hired by John Hancock Advisers to manage the fund while SGA was being set up.
