Gainesville (Fla.) Consolidated Police Officers and Firefighters Pension Plan named Boston Co., Brandywine, Julius Baer and Walter Scott as finalists in its search for a commingled active international equity manager to run $15 million, said Brian Sergeant, pension management analyst. The $145 million plan terminated Putnam, the portfolio's previous manager, in October following market-timing accusations against the firm, Mr. Sergeant said. The money was temporarily moved to an EAFE index fund run by State Street Global Advisors; the fund will be closed once an active manager is hired, he said. Finalists will be interviewed on Feb. 27; a selection is possible that day. Summit Strategies is assisting.
Sinead Martin, spokeswoman for Putnam, did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
