Russell Investment Group, Tacoma, Wash., expects to hire more than 100 people globally to new positions this year, said P. Craig Ueland, president and chief executive officer. Russell expects searches to concentrate on portfolio managers, who select and determine weightings of managers for its multimanager investment program, said Christopher J. Phillips, manager-public relations. Other new jobs include research analysts for its manager research unit, as well as positions in its institutional investment services unit, which includes asset allocation and client services. About 55% of the new jobs will be in the United States. Anyone interested in the positions should consult Russell.com for specific job postings.
Among current searches, Russell is seeking a senior consultant or consultant in institutional investment management, to be based either in New York or Chicago. Duties include providing advice on strategic, investment policy and asset class structure and consulting on implementation of strategy on manager selection. Qualifications include at least 10 years of experience doing similar work at the senior level.
