American Express Financial Corp. and American Express Bank, both subsidiaries of American Express Co., are combining their two domestic and international hedge fund of funds groups into a single global platform, managing a combined $1 billion for institutional and retail clients. The single-manager hedge fund strategies managed by American Express and its Threadneedle subsidiary will not be affected by the change, said Paul Johnson, a spokesman.
