The $66 billion State of Wisconsin Investment Board, Madison, retained Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. to conduct a national search for an executive director. Patricia Lipton retired from the post in January. In the interim, David C. Mills was named executive director. David A. Morris, managing partner, Heidrick & Struggles, Houston, is leading the recruiting effort. "These searches typically take between four and six months, depending on the schedule of the board," Mr. Morris said. Compensation range for the position wasn't available. Ms. Lipton was paid $214,672 last year.
Qualifications include significant experience with well-regarded financial organizations, including leadership responsibilities for both financial assets and in human resources. Other qualifications include strong knowledge of sophisticated investment management concepts and experience in leading highly educated and well-trained financial professionals.
