Illinois Teachers Retirement System, Springfield, is considering placing active equity managers INVESCO and MFS on watch for organizational reasons. INVESCO runs $608 million in international and MFS manages $616 million in domestic large-cap growth. The $28 billion system's investment committee is following the recommendation of consultant Callan; the system board will vote on the recommendation Friday. Gordon Dickinson of Callan said that the recent market-timing investigations involving the two managers would not affect the system's two portfolios, but it still would be prudent to place them on watch.
