National Coalition for Corporate Reform held its first organizational meeting Friday, led by Alan G. Hevesi, New York state comptroller and sole trustee of the New York State Common Retirement Fund, said David Neustadt, comptroller spokesman. Others attending were Philip Angelides, California state treasurer; Sean Harrigan, president, California Public Employees' Retirement System; Jack Ehnes, CEO of the California State Teachers' Retirement System; Richard H. Moore, North Carolina state treasurer and sole trustee of the North Carolina Retirement System; and Denise L. Nappier, Connecticut state treasurer and sole trustee of the Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds, Mr. Neustadt said.
Others included officials representing the state pension funds of Oregon, Iowa, Maine and Kentucky, and officials representing the pension funds of the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees and the Service Employees International Union, he added.
