The Indiana Public Employees' Retirement Fund, Indianapolis, formed a committee to lead the search for a chief investment officer to replace Patricia J. Gerrick at the $9.7 billion fund. The three trustees who make up the committee will met Dec. 12 to discuss how to proceed with the search and whether to hire a recruiting firm, said Patrick Lane, communications director. Jonathan Birge, chair of the fund, heads the committee; other members are Richard Doermer, vice chair, and Robert V. Welch Jr.
Craig E. Hartzer, executive director, was named acting CIO in the interim. Ms. Gerrick, who joined the fund in March 2001 as CIO, left in October.
