Barbara Jarriel will retire in February as chief investment officer of the $85 billion Florida State Board of Administration, Tallahassee.
Ms. Jarriel, who has been with the FSBA for 24 years, was named CIO in September 2002. Prior to that she was chief of fixed income.
The board is accepting applications for the CIO job until Nov. 21, said Mike McCauley, director of investment services.
The CIO, who reports to the executive director, oversees the entire investment portfolio and manages a staff of seven, including five senior investment staff officers and the director of investment services.
The salary range is $83,498 to $162,357.
Candidates should have a BA in finance, economics or accounting; an MBA or CFA is desirable. They also must have 10 years of investment experience.
