Oberweis Asset Management was the top-performing institutional separate account manager for the year ended Sept. 30 in InvestorForce's quarterly institutional manager survey, returning 107.67% for its small-microcap growth equity portfolio. Among fixed-income managers, Zazove Associates led the pack with 93.07% in its high-yield convertibles portfolio. Brandes Investment Partners was first in three categories. Its global midcap equity portfolio, at 62.58%, was tops among global equity managers; the U.S. value midcap equity portfolio, which returned 59.85%, led small-cap to midcap value equity managers; and its international small-cap equity portfolio, at 55.36%, was first among international equity managers. The InvestorForce universe consists of more than 800 institutional separate account managers.
