Louisiana Teachers' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, hired Bear Stearns to manage $200 million in active domestic large-cap value equities, said Dan Bryant, CIO. The $10.7 billion system's other large-cap value managers - LSV Asset, UBS Global and Deutsche Asset - manage about $285 million each, Mr. Bryant said. The move was made for diversification, he said; funding came from rebalancing. Merrill Lynch and TCW/Cowen were the other finalists in the search. Holbein Associates assisted.
