The board of the California Teachers' Retirement System will vote Wednesday on issuing RFPs for a general consultant and the $103 billion system's group of project consultants. Current contracts with general consultant Pension Consulting Alliance and project consultants Mercer Investment Consulting and Callan Associates will expire early next year; all will be eligible to rebid. The system, Sacramento, wants consultants used by at least 15 pension fund clients with a minimum total of $50 billion in assets. Separately, staff recommended that CalSTRS commit $50 million to FS Equity Partners V, a private-equity fund focused on consumer retail and related industries. A board vote is expected Wednesday.
