Steven P. Klimkowski joined Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, as chief investment officer, a new position, overseeing its $1.2 billion in endowment, pension and other funds. The position was created during a restructuring that segregated investments from treasury and created an investment office.
Mr. Klimkowski was chief operating officer of the University of Chicago, where he helped oversee investment operations of the $3.3 billion endowment fund. Joanna Rupp was promoted to chief operating officer. She was manager of public markets, overseeing externally managed portfolios and reporting to the director of investments. She has not been replaced, pending the appointment of a new director of investments at the school.
