Stratus Technologies Inc., Maynard, Mass., added the Fidelity Diversified International and Morgan Stanley Institutional International Equity funds as investment options in its $105 million 401(k) plan, said Donna Martin-Ellis, benefits specialist. The plan also closed three funds to new contributions: the Fidelity Aggressive Growth and Overseas funds; and the Janus Worldwide fund. The funds were closed because of performance concerns, Ms. Martin-Ellis said; the move was not related to recent investigations into Janus' trading practices, she said. Plan officials have not decided whether the funds will eventually be dropped; officials will next review all funds in March.
Sarah Friedell, Fidelity spokeswoman, declined to comment. Shelley Peterson, Janus spokeswoman, said the firm is confident that Janus Worldwide portfolio manager Laurence Chang "can deliver for shareholders."
The plan offers 22 investment options. Fidelity, the bundled provider, assisted.
