The Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board, Boston, delayed selecting a general investment consultant until December because of recent reports connecting incumbent Wilshire Associates to the recent mutual fund trading scandal. Wilshire has denied any wrongdoing. Board officials expressed confidence that Wilshire will be rehired but will extend its current contract with the $29 billion system month by month while they look into the allegations.
