The city of Gainesville, Fla., is looking for a pension investment analyst to oversee the $209 million general employees' and the $127 million police officers' and firefighters' pension funds. Candidates, who must have a four-year degree in finance or accounting, will be responsible for monitoring the managers of both plans. The job ad was posted on the city's website, www.cityofgainesville.org; applications are due Nov. 12. The new analyst will replace Ken Bess, who left for personal reasons, said Brian Sergeant, pension management analyst. Mr. Sergeant is handling the investment analyst duties in the interim.
