Smith, Dallas, is looking for a vice president-institutional marketing, a new position. The individual will handle marketing for both Smith Asset, which manages $700 million in large-cap core, large-cap growth and small-cap core equities, and Discovery Management, an affiliated hedge fund manager with $100 million in long-short equities. Olschwanger Partners LLC, Dallas, is assisting in the recruiting.
Qualifications include at least 10 years of experience in institutional investment marketing, particularly with a focus on boutique firms. The company hopes to fill the position by the end of the year.
Wilshire, Santa Monica, Calif., is searching for a vice president-business development and institutional marketing for its investment management services. The individual would replace Brian J. Haskin, who joined Analytic Investors Inc., Los Angeles, as managing director-marketing and client service. He was vice president-business development at Wilshire.
Duties include calling on institutional corporate retirement plans, foundations and endowments, primarily to sell active commingled fund or funds and separate accounts. Qualifications include experience in business development, an understanding of fund of funds and a network of contacts with corporate board members, chief executive officers, chief financial officers and treasurers.
