The Springfield (Ill.) Police Pension Fund will hold off on selecting its first investment consultant until after officials for the $70 million plan interview one or two more firms by February, said Kevin D. Barrington, president and chairman. The plan had named Marquette Associates and Becker Burke as finalists earlier this year, but board members decided to consider additional firms that later expressed interest, Mr. Barrington said. Marquette and Becker Burke are "still on the table," he said, but he could not identify the other firms under consideration. The board may make a selection at its April meeting.
The new consultant will review the performance of the plan's sole manager, U.S. Bancorp, and make policy recommendations to the board, Mr. Barrington said.
