James McLean was named CIO of the $14 billion Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Columbus, effective July 28. Mr. McLean is senior portfolio manager in private client services at Bank One. He was one of three finalists after the system reopened its search in April; no decision was reached in an initial search earlier this year. Mr. McLean replaces Robert G. Cowman, who became director of investments at the $6.5 billion Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus. Terrance W. Gasper, CFO, was interim CIO. Bank One will seek a replacement for Mr. McLean, said Tom Kelly, spokesman.
