Key positions at two big investment shops were filled this week.
Girard Miller was hired as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Janus Capital Group, Denver. And, Alexander "Lex" Huberts was named chief investment officer at Standish Mellon Asset Management, Boston.
Both are new positions.
Mr. Miller had been president and chief executive officer at ICMA Retirement Corp., Washington. Joan McCallen, chief operations officer at ICMA, will serve as acting CEO until a permanent successor is named. No other details were available at press time.
Mr. Huberts was managing director of asset allocation strategies at Mellon Capital Management, San Francisco. He was replaced by Vikas Oswal and Helen Potter, who were named managing directors and co-heads of asset allocation strategies. Mr. Oswal has been with Mellon Capital since 1994, most recently as head of enhanced tactical asset allocation strategies. Ms. Potter, with Mellon Capital since 1996, oversees the asset allocation strategies group.
