Georgia Firefighters Pension Fund, Decatur, hired Burgess Chambers as consultant to its $400 million pension plan, said James R. Meynard, executive director. Previous consultant Southeastern Advisory was allowed to rebid. The funds last consultant search was conducted 12 years ago, and plan officials thought it was time to compare Southeastern with other consulting groups, Mr. Meynard said.
Burgess Chambers is reviewing the plans investment policy statement and asset allocation, said Mr. Meynard. The reviews will be completed by the end of the summer.
The plans asset allocation is 60% equity and 40% fixed income.
