The $67 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas, Austin, this week launched a nationwide search for a director of international equities. The candidate will replace Jim Hille, who was named chief investment officer earlier this month. Mr. Hillie was responsible for the nearly $8 billion international equity portfolio.
The search is being conducted by the system's human resources department. Candidates should have 10 years of full-time investment experience, including five years internally managing large developed and emerging markets and active and passive international equities. A CFA designation may be substituted for one year of experience. Applicants should submit a state of Texas employment application, a current resume and a letter of interest to TRS.
There is no posted closing date for applying, but TRS executives expect to make a final selection by early summer, according to a spokesman.
