SEI Investments Inc., Oaks, Pa., is searching for a chief investment officer. Robert Ludwig, currently CIO, will become director-investments, a new position.
Edward D. Loughlin, president, SEI's asset management group, expects the search to take several months. Executive search firm Spencer Stuart, Stamford, Conn., is assisting.
SEI, which has $80 billion under management through a manager-of-managers approach, seeks a CIO who can deal with the growing complexity of the company's investment management products, Mr. Loughlin said. The CIO will manage a global investment team of about 100 professionals. Aside from the United States, SEI's principal offices are in Canada, South Africa, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, South Korea, Mexico and England.
Candidates should have a deep investment background in multiple asset classes and should have been responsible for performance and managing staff in multiple locations, he said.
The new CIO will report to Mr. Loughlin. Mr. Ludwig, whom Mr. Loughlin said wants to concentrate on investing, will report to the new CIO.
Anyone interested may apply to Jerry Crompton, SEI recruiting managing, who is overseeing the search.
