Juan De La Cruz Farmworkers Pension Fund, Keene, Calif., hired Wurts & Associates as consultant, said Douglas L. Blaylock, administrator. Plan officials conducted the search because of personnel changes at previous consultant Canterbury, which was allowed to rebid, he said.
Wurts is conducting a comprehensive study of the $87 million plan, with preliminary results expected by mid-June. Plan officials are "very interested in looking at real estate, Mr. Blaylock said. Current managers are: STW, $39 million in active domestic fixed income; Institutional Capital, $17 million in active domestic large-cap value equities; Dawson-Giammalva, $17 million in active domestic midcap growth equities; Stafford Capital, $9 million in active domestic small-cap growth equities; and Brandes, $5 million in its Nations International Value mutual fund, he said.
