John Philip Coghlan, president of the individual investor group at Charles Schwab Corp., San Francisco, lost his job in a corporate reorganization. David S. Pottruck, Schwab's president and co-chief executive officer, said in statement that Mr. Coghlan is interested in finding a new job as a corporate CEO. Mr. Coghlan could not be reached by press time.
Lon Gorman, vice chairman and president of Schwab's capital markets, asset management products and services, now will head a new unit - Schwab institutional and asset management. Mr. Gorman will have oversight of institutional asset management and services, asset management, capital markets, corporate services and fixed income.
William L. Atwell will head Schwab's new client sales and service group and Schwab Bank, which incorporates most of the individual investor group. He was executive vice president of the institutional, international and banking groups at Schwab. Jody L. Bilney, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, will add oversight of Schwab's emerging affluent and affluent segment to her duties. The areas had been part of the individual investor group.
