Washington State Investment Board, Olympia, reopened its search for an investment officer-real estate. "The board wasn't happy with the finalists, so we reopened the recruitment," said Melanie Watness, human resources administrator.
WSIB, which has a total of $48 billion in assets, has $3.6 billion in 26 real estate partnerships. It expects the real estate portfolio to grow to nearly $5 billion in the next three years.
Duties include assisting in developing and implementing real estate investment policy, including selection of managers.
The investment officer-real estate reports to Steven M. Draper, who was promoted from the position to senior investment officer-real estate. Mr. Draper succeeded Jeffrey Habersetzer, who left to become investment director at Principal Real Estate Investors, Des Moines, Iowa.
Qualifications for the position include four years of direct, comparable experience in institutional real estate investment management.
Salary range is $59,089 to $78,876 a year, depending on qualifications.
Anyone interested may apply to the WSIB human resources department.
