The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Columbus, is reopening its search for a chief investment officer to oversee its $14 billion fund.
"A decision was made to re-advertise for the position," said Jim Samuel, director of corporate affairs and deputy administrator, after the three finalists chosen by the screening committee met with Chief Executive Officer James Conrad and William Sotko, chairman of the workers' compensation oversight commission.
Robert G. Cowman left as CIO earlier this year to become director of investments at the $6.5 billion School Employees Retirement System of Ohio, Columbus. Terrance W. Gasper, chief financial officer, is serving as interim CIO.
The bureau is conducting a national search. Qualifications include experience in supervising operations of an investment department. It is not using a recruiting firm.
