Bradley Atkins has left private equity consulting firm Hamilton Lane Advisors, Bala Cynwyd, Pa., where he was a principal and in charge of research, to start private equity consultant Franklin Investment Advisors LLC, Conshohocken, Pa.
Mr. Atkins is chief executive officer of the new firm, which will focus on manager due diligence and selection. Joining him at Franklin are Michael Bacine, James McGovern and Karl Hartmann, all former Hamilton Lane vice presidents; and Neil Mowery and Ryan Chowdhury, formerly associates at Hamilton Lane.

He said Hamilton Lane has been hiring people to make the transition as seamless as possible. Alexander Cheung was named a vice president to replace Mr. Atkins and lead the firm's research department. Mr. Cheung previously was a managing director at Long Bow Capital Management LP, King of Prussia, Pa.
Richard E. Hoff was hired as a senior associate in the research group; he most recently was a financial analyst at GM Asset Management, New York, in its private equity department; no information was available on a replacement.
Also, Joseph Pavalone was named a senior associate in research and due diligence; he previously was a partner at Konquer Capital LP, Scranton, Pa.
