Boeing Co., Chicago, is searching for a chief investment officer to replace Susan E. Manske to oversee the company's $46 billion in defined benefit and defined contribution assets.
"We're moving fairly quickly," said Anne Eisele, director-financial communications.
An interim CIO will be named soon, she said.
Ms. Eisele also said Boeing is using a recruiting firm for the search, but she declined to identify the firm. When Ms. Manske was hired in late 2001, Korn Ferry International conducted the search.
No other details on the search were available.
The CIO reports to Walter E. Skowronski, senior vice president of finance, and Boeing's treasurer.
Industry observers speculate a potential internal candidate is Keith Cardoza, who joined Boeing as director-trust investments last fall from the Illinois State Board of Investments.
Ms. Manske was named vice president and CIO of the $3.7 billion John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Chicago. She replaced Lyn Hutton, who became CIO of the Commonfund in January.
