Woodrow Tyler was promoted to administrator of the stock analysis division of the Michigan Department of Treasury's Bureau of Investments, Lansing. Mr. Tyler has been acting administrator since December, when Jacqueline Johnson was promoted to head of the bureau. Mr. Tyler had been assistant administrator of stocks. Terry Stanton, a spokesman for the bureau, which manages $40.9 billion in pension assets, said the assistant administrator position is vacant, but he did not have details about how it will be filled.
Also, Timothy Recker joined the bureau as administrator of alternative assets. He replaces Thomas Huffnagle, who left in November. Mr. Recker was director of investments at GE Mortgage Insurance Co. Investments, Raleigh, N.C. Timothy Benedict, a GE spokesman, said GE intends to replace Mr. Recker, but he had no information about the search.
