Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System, Oklahoma City, hired Capital Guardian and Causeway Capital to manage $100 million each in active international equities, said William Puckett, CIO. Partial funding will probably come from reducing an S&P 500 index fund run by Northern Trust; the rest will come from reducing other portfolios, he said. Board members of the $5.2 billion pension plan will probably decide on the specific funding sources at their April 30 meeting.
Separately, plan officials raised the watch status of Loomis Sayles, which runs $300 million in core-plus fixed income, to "on notice, the highest level on the plans watch list before termination, Mr. Puckett said. Loomis Sayles had been on the plans "alert status watch list. Plan officials have performance and organizational concerns about the firm, Mr. Puckett said. Christopher Lazzaro, vice president of public relations for Loomis Sayles, said the company would not comment.
The plans target asset allocation is 70% equity and 30% fixed income. Marquette Alliance advised on all changes.
