John Riddle was named president and chief investment officer of Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co., Chicago. Mr. Riddle had been chief executive officer and CIO of Capital West Asset Management LLC, Denver, which was made a subsidiary of Duff & Phelps by its parent, The Phoenix Cos., Hartford, Conn. The CEO title was eliminated, said Sharon Bray, Phoenix spokeswoman. Mr. Riddle replaces David A. Chalupnik, who became head of equities at U.S. Bancorp Asset Management, Minneapolis, in October.
Also, Phoenix continues to search for a CEO of Phoenix Investment Partners, Hartford, its money management holding unit, which oversees 11 investment affiliates, Ms. Bray said. Current CEO Philip McCoughlan plans to retire once his successor is named.
