Elliot "Jack Corbett, co-founder of the Pax World Fund and a pioneer of the U.S. social investment movement, died March 18 at the age 82.
Mr. Corbett and Luther Tyson created the Pax World Fund in 1971. "A letter from a woman in Ohio inquiring about how to invest her pension in a way that would avoid war-related activities prompted the two men to create a mutual fund that would allow people to invest with their values and influence corporations as shareholders, according to a Pax statement.
Donations may be made in Mr. Corbetts name to Pax International, 100 Maryland Ave. N.E., Washington, DC 20002.
