Gateway Foundation, Chicago, hired Fiduciary Management to handle $7 million in active domestic small-cap equities, said George Vargas, vice president of finance. The portfolio will be managed in a core to value style, said a source familiar with the $30 million foundation. Funding came from cash, and the change was the result of an asset allocation study. The foundations asset allocation is 50% equity, 25% fixed income and 25% cash. Marquette Associates advised.
