Illinois State Board of Investment, Chicago, has narrowed to five candidates its search for an executive director, one of three top vacant positions at the $7.5 billion fund has vacant.
Trustees will interview the candidates and hope to make a decision in about two weeks. The names of the candidates weren't available.
The new executive director will replace Jane Patterson, who left to become director-investments at the $753 million Joyce Foundation, Chicago.
Katherine Spinato, deputy director, is overseeing the fund in the interim. Trustees aren't using a recruiting firm.
