South Carolina Retirement Board System, Columbia, may raise its equity exposure to 32.5% of total assets by April 1, from 30%, said Michael Sponhour, spokesman. The investment panel of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board, which oversees the $20 billion system, recommended the move. Funding will come from reducing fixed income to 67.5%, from 70%. The assets will be allocated to existing equity managers, Mr. Sponhour said.
