Michael Rome, managing director, and Kevin Smithen, vice president, will lead the team managing the Lazard Global Opportunities Fund. Thomas Ellis and Ben Guest, who had co-managed the hedge fund, left the firm this month; five key hedge fund managers have left Lazard in the last month.
Mr. Rome also was named team leader of the Lazard European Opportunities Fund, which was managed by William Von Mueffling, Jay Genzer, Robert Cope and Mr. Guest, all of whom left the firm.
Frederick Barker and James Donald, both vice presidents, will lead the process of liquidating the Lazard Pacific & Emerging Opportunities Fund; they had co-managed the hedge fund with Mr. Ellis.
Eugene Krishnan and Richard Green remain members of the research team that will assume management of the Lazard Technology Opportunities Fund. Messrs. Guest, Krishnan and Green had co-managed the hedge fund.
Sara Fischer, senior vice president, and quantitative analysts Brent Tran and Robert Johnson now co-manage the Lazard U.S. Market Neutral Fund; Mr. Genzer had been a co-manager.
