Applera Corp., Norwalk, Conn., hired Northern Trust as custodian for its $455 million pension plan, said Eric O. Vatne, director, corporate finance and cash management. The plan’s asset allocation is 65% equity, 33% fixed income and 2% cash. New England Pension Consultants advised. Mr. Vatne would not name the previous custodian.
