Jersey City (N.J.) Employees Retirement System put two managers on watch for performance: Smith Barney, which runs $9 million in active domestic large-cap core equities, and Groupama, which manages $8 million in active domestic large-cap growth equities, said Stephen A. McGuire, pension fund manager. The $60 million pension plan will closely monitor the managers performance until March 31. Officials from Smith Barney and Groupama did not return calls requesting comment. The current asset allocation is 51% equity and 49% fixed income. The plan did not use a consultant.
