University of Wisconsin System, Madison, on Jan. 1 will issue an RFI for managers in all asset classes, said Doug Hoerr, treasury manager. Officials for the $300 million endowment decided, based on the results of a recently concluded asset allocation study, to search for managers in current as well as new asset classes. All current managers will be asked to rebid, he said.
The funds current equity and fixed-income managers, all active, are: Chicago Equity, domestic large-cap core equity; UBS Global Asset, international and domestic large-cap core equity; Oak Associates, domestic large-cap growth equity; ICM Asset, domestic small-cap value equity; Provident Investment, domestic small-cap growth equity; Standish Mellon, international and domestic core fixed income; Bradford & Marzec, domestic core fixed income; and Reams, domestic core fixed income. Adams Street and J.P. Morgan Fleming are private equity managers.
Three new asset classes active domestic high-yield fixed income; active emerging markets equity; and hedge funds may be added following the results of the RFI, said Mr. Hoerr.
The RFI will be posted on the universitys website, www.wisc.edu. Plan officials have not decided on a deadline for the RFI, but they would like hirings to be made by July 1, Mr. Hoerr said. No consultant was used, he said.
