Georgia Firefighters Pension Fund, Decatur, is conducting a shortlist search for a new consultant, said Jim Meynard, secretary-treasurer. Current consultant Southeastern Advisory, which has been with the $409 million pension plan for 12 years, was asked to rebid; a selection will be made by the beginning of March, he said.
Separately, the plan terminated GLOBALT for performance, Mr. Meynard said; the manager ran $48 million in active domestic large-cap growth equities for the plan. William Roach Jr., president of GLOBALT, declinded comment. The assets were transferred to cash pending the result of the consultant search. The plans asset allocation is 55% equity, 30% fixed income and 15% cash.
