Treasury Secretary Paul ONeill and Bush economic adviser Larry Lindsey resigned, said White House spokesman Taylor Griffin. Mr. ONeills resignation will be effective "sometime in the next few weeks, according to a statement by Michelle Davis, Treasury spokeswoman. Mr. ONeill told Treasury senior staff this morning, "There are lots of other important things to do in life, Ms. Davis said.
The White House had no comment on who will replace Mr. ONeill, said Mr. Griffin.
