Milliman USA terminated Eugene "Gene" M. Kalwarski as equity principal and sued him for $2 million, claiming he violated a part of his contract requiring confidentiality of company and client information and also a non-compete clause by setting up Cheiron, a new employee benefits consulting firm. Milliman's lawsuit, filed Oct. 28 in Fairfax County, Va., Circuit Court, also seeks to block Mr. Kalwarski from releasing further confidential information about Milliman and its clients.
Mr. Kalwarski has until Nov. 18 to reply or ask the court to dismiss the lawsuit. William E. Potts Jr., senior counsel for the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, representing Milliman, declined to comment on the lawsuit.
Mr. Kalwarski also declined to comment.
